Rumor is a men's and women's Fashion & Lifestyle store located on the corner of Duke Street and Victoria Street in the heart of Cambridge, New Zealand.

We offer an extensive range of desirable Fashion and Lifestyle Brands. and stock a large range of designer labels from New Zealand and around the world including an exciting selection of denim, gifts, footwear and accessories.



To be eligible for an in store return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it in. It must also be in the original packaging with ALL tags attached.

Our policy lasts 7 days, if 7 days have gone by since your purchase unfortunately, we can’t offer you an exchange or store credit.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Refunds will not be processed simply for change of mind.

  • Full price items are available for an exchange or store credit. 

  • No refunds are offered for in store purchases unless an item is faulty. 

  • We do not accept returns on sale items.

  • All footwear must be returned in the original shoe box, undamaged. Sunglasses and Jewellery must also be returned in the original case and box.

Our Online return policy lasts 14 days. We cannot offer you a refund, exchange or credit note if your purchase exceeds the 14-day period.   

  • Full priced items are available for an exchange, refund or store credit within 14 days. The shipping fee will be deducted from the total refund amount, if returning the order.

  • Sale or reduced items are not available for a return of any kind.

  • You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs when returning your items. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

  • If you are shipping an item over $50, we recommend using a trackable shipping service. This is a good way to keep track of your item and to avoid being lost in transit. 


Once we have received your garment and inspected, you will receive an email from us with the outcome of approval or rejection for a refund. 

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your bank account, credit card or original method of payment, within 3-5 business days when returns are processed.

If you are purchasing full priced items through Afterpay and Laybuy we will process your refund through our merchant portal however once, we have processed this it is out of our control how long it will take to show up in your account. Afterpay has stated "The money can take up to 10 Business days to be returned to your card/s depending on your financial institution".
